ABOUT

As an experienced classical teacher, I provide tutoring services for the 7th-12th grader who is classically educated. Whether you homeschool or private school, I offer help with Composition, Rhetoric (persuasive speech/public speaking), Logic, and Theology. I bring both my love for young people as well as my enthusiasm for education into the learning environment. 

It's About Your Student 

I believe students should know their teachers love them as much as they love teaching. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to me that your student leave each tutoring session knowing that he or she is genuinely cared about. As Aristotle explained, what good is logos (the well-reasoned message) and pathos (the emotional response) if you do not demonstrate goodwill towards your audience (ethos)? I teach the person, not just the material.

Instruction

I patiently instruct, creating an environment where your student feels free to ask as many questions as he or she so desires. Asking questions demonstrates a desire to understand! Therefore, I encourage lots of questions and discussion. My goal is that your student understands the material practically, not just theoretically.

Background

I have classically taught grades 7-11 in private schools using the university model. This means students attend school half the week and are homeschooled during the rest. Therefore, I understand both the desire to instill classical content as well as protect quality family time. I am a friend to both the "schooled" and "homeschooled."

Education

I have my Master of Theology degree (ThM) from Dallas Theological Seminary. My Christian beliefs align with a conservative, orthodox view of God and Scripture. Though my faith proceeds all that I do, students I tutor do not need to share my beliefs.

Scheduling & Pricing

I schedule tutoring sessions individually and do not have a set schedule. The first tutoring session is FREE and is 30 minutes long. Tutoring is done online (Google Meet) and payment is accepted through PayPal. I offer 30 or 60 minute sessions. Payment is due prior to each session. ​
